PSG claim first UEFA Super Cup with penalty win over Tottenham

PSG won the UEFA Super Cup for the first time in their history by defeating Tottenham in a penalty shootout (2–2, pen. 4–3).

The Champions League winners have not lost this competition for the past seven years, Idman.biz reports.

The last Europa League winner to claim the UEFA Super Cup was Atletico Madrid. Diego Simeone’s team defeated Real Madrid 4–2 in 2018.

In the following years, the Super Cup was won by Liverpool, Bayern Munich, Chelsea, Real Madrid (twice), and Manchester City, all Champions League winners.
