Interview with Ibrahim Sangare, the French forward and one of Gabala’s new signings, for Futbolinfo.az.
– How did your transfer to Gabala happen? Did you have other offers? Why did you choose Gabala?
– The transfer negotiations went well. I had other options too, but Gabala offered an ambitious project that quickly convinced me. That’s why I am here now.
– What are your first impressions of your new club? How were you welcomed at Gabala?
– I was welcomed very well. The club is very well organized and everyone treats me very sincerely. There is a family atmosphere here.
– You have played for Turkish clubs during your career. Do you think this experience will help you adapt more quickly to your new team and Azerbaijani football?
– Definitely. The Turkish league is demanding and taught me to adapt quickly to the championship. I’m sure this experience will be useful in this new stage of my career.
– Gabala has returned to the Azerbaijan Premier League after a one-year break and doesn’t want to be relegated again. Do you think your team can perform successfully in the new season?
– Yes, the team is motivated and everyone works hard in training. If we continue to play together, we can have a successful season.
– How many goals do you aim to score in a season with Gabala? Will you be a feared striker for opposing defenders?
– I can’t say a specific number, but I want to be a dangerous striker and bring victories to Gabala.
– Before joining Gabala, which players in the Azerbaijani championship did you know?
– The player I knew was Brahim Konate, who moved from Shamakhi to Zira this summer. He is my friend and brother.
