“We apologize for being late to the conference.”
Idman.biz, citing Teleqraf, reports that this was said by the head coach of the Greek team Aris, Marinos Ouzounidis, at the press conference before their first leg match against Araz-Nakhchivan in the second qualifying round of the UEFA Conference League in Baku.
The 57-year-old coach, who arrived 20 minutes late to the event, stated that they will play an important game: “We will train today. Tomorrow we have an important match. We will prepare for that game.”
He recalled that they had previously visited Baku: “We played against Gabala. Tomorrow an interesting game awaits us. We have watched several of Araz-Nakhchivan’s matches from last season and two of their friendly games this year. We will do our best to qualify for the next round.”
The first leg between Araz-Nakhchivan and Aris will be held on July 24 at Dalga Arena. The match will kick off at 20:00.
