"It's too early to talk about the matches against Aris. We will conduct some analyses," said Elmar Bakhshiyev, head coach of Araz-Nakhchivan, in an interview with AZERTAC, Idman.biz reports.
The coach stated that currently all their focus is on the team's preparation: "Everything depends on the collective’s readiness. As opponents, we also have a chance to advance. Whether our chances are high or low will be shown in the games. But you can be sure that as a team, we will fight until the very end. This is Araz-Nakhchivan's first time competing in European cups, but we have many players in the squad who have experience in such matches. We believe in their experience. To succeed, we will use all our strength and potential. Football predictions are unreliable. As I mentioned, we will study the opponent. Of course, we have some initial information. But the opponent is not standing still either; they are making transfers and playing friendlies. Over time, we will learn their strengths and weaknesses and inform the team."
Bakhshiyev also evaluated the training camp ongoing in Erzurum, Turkiye: "The preparation process is going according to plan. We observe our mistakes and shortcomings, analyze, and come to certain conclusions. We strive to make the most of every day of the camp so that the team is ready for official matches. We hold two training sessions per day. Yesterday, we tested our strength in a friendly match. Our main aim in this game was to check the connections between lines and help the new team adapt to each other."
The UEFA Conference League second qualifying round matches will be played on July 24 and 31. Araz-Nakhchivan will host the first leg and play the return match away.
