Michal Probierz has resigned from his role as head coach of the Polish national football team.
The decision comes after Poland suffered a 2–1 away defeat to Finland on June 10 in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, despite previously winning three matches in a row, Idman.biz reports.
Appointed in September 2023, Probierz oversaw a difficult period for Poland. Under his leadership, the team failed to impress at Euro 2024 and finished bottom of their group in the 2024/25 UEFA Nations League.
Tensions peaked recently when Polish football legend Robert Lewandowski, stripped of the captain's armband by Probierz, declared he would no longer play for the national team as long as the coach remained in charge.
