Neftchi is on the verge of completing its first signing ahead of the new season.
Idman.biz reports, citing to Futbolxeber.az, that Sessi d'Almeida, the player targeted by the Baku-based club, has already arrived in the Azerbaijani capital.
The 29-year-old midfielder has successfully passed his medical, and is expected to officially sign his contract in the coming hours.
Born in Bordeaux, Sessi Octave Emile D'Almeida began his football career at the city’s namesake club. He made three senior appearances for Bordeaux before transferring to PSG in 2015, though he struggled to secure a place in the squad.
Over the years, he has played for several clubs including Barnsley, Blackpool, and Yeovil Town (England), Valenciennes and Pau FC (France), Tondela (Portugal), and most recently Apollon Limassol (Cyprus).
D'Almeida holds both French and Beninese passports and has represented Benin internationally since 2015, earning 34 caps and scoring once.
