The race for the European Golden Boot, awarded to the top scorer in Europe’s domestic leagues, is heating up — and Kylian Mbappé is now within touching distance of the coveted prize.
Mbappé netted a goal in Real Madrid’s 2–1 win over Mallorca in La Liga, taking his league tally to 28 goals for the season, Idman.biz reports.
With that strike, the French forward is now just one point behind current leader Viktor Gyökeres of Sporting CP, who has 38 goals (57 points). Mbappé shares second place with Mohamed Salah, who has the same goal tally and points total.
