Azerbaijani chess player Ulviyya Fataliyeva has learned her opponent for the 1/32 finals of the Women's World Cup, currently taking place in Batumi.
Last year’s European champion Fataliyeva will face Georgian representative Lela Javakhishvili in the next round, Idman.biz reports.
As one of the top-rated players in the tournament, Javakhishvili received a bye in the first round.
Fataliyeva advanced to this stage after eliminating Australian player Jilin Zhang in the opening round.
Today two more Azerbaijani players, Govhar Beydullayeva and Gulnar Mammadova, will compete in tiebreak matches for a place in the 1/32 finals. Their opponents are Iran’s Anahita Zahedifar and Canada’s Yunshan Li, respectively.
