Azerbaijan's men's and women's national teams have started their seventh-round matches at the 46th World Chess Olympiad in Samarkand, Uzbekistan.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the men's team are facing Greece, while Azerbaijan's women are playing Armenia.
Both Azerbaijani teams have fielded their strongest line-ups for the round.
In the men's match, Shahriyar Mamedyarov (2720) is playing Nikolas Theodorou (2633) on the first board. Aydin Suleymanli (2664) faces Dimitrios Mastrovasilis (2525), Mahammad Muradli (2653) takes on Stamatis Kourkoulos-Arditis (2567), while Rauf Mammadov (2631) meets Ioannis Papaioannou (2608).
In the women's encounter, Ulviyya Fataliyeva (2402) is facing Lilit Mkrtchian (2353), Govhar Beydullayeva (2392) plays Mariam Mkrtchyan (2374), Khanim Balajayeva (2356) meets Elina Danielian (2382), and Gulnar Mammadova (2311) is up against Susanna Gaboyan (2179).
After six rounds, both Azerbaijani teams have collected 10 match points. The men's team are 12th in the standings, while the women's side occupy ninth place.
