The 2026/27 season of the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) will get underway today.
As reported by İdman.Biz, defending champions Sabah will face LANDAU Lions in the opening game of the first round.
The match will be played at the Baku Sports Palace and is scheduled to start at 19:30.
The opening fixture will be a rematch of last season's ABL final. LANDAU Lions competed under the name Absheron Lions last season and finished as runners-up in the championship.
In the final series, Sabah defeated Absheron Lions 3-0 to claim the ABL title.
The remaining matches of the opening round of the 2026/27 Azerbaijan Basketball League season will be played on October 2, 3 and 4.
