Changes have been made to the list of clubs participating in the Azerbaijan Basketball League (ABL) for the 2026/27 season.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing the Azerbaijan Basketball Federation, the ABL Board has made a decision following an assessment of whether clubs met the required registration criteria.
The decision was taken in accordance with Articles 3.3 and 5.12 of the regulations governing the Azerbaijan Basketball League and the national cup.
As a result, Sumgayit will compete in the ABL during the 2026/27 season, while Shaki will participate in ABL 2.
Eight teams will therefore compete in Azerbaijan's top basketball division next season: Sabah, LANDAU Lions, Ganja, Neftchi, Ordu, Nakhchivan, NTD and Sumgayit.
