The name of one of the assistants to new Gabala head coach Yeton Bekiri has been revealed.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Gabala press secretary Elnur Mammadli said that Burhan Emurllai will serve as the North Macedonian specialist's main assistant.
Emurllai has previously worked alongside Bekiri. The pair were part of Shkendija's coaching staff when the club won the North Macedonian championship in the 2024/25 season.
Bekiri has signed a 1+2-year contract with Gabala. The 44-year-old will officially begin his duties on September 20.
Gabala started the new season under Kakhaber Tskhadadze. However, following a poor start in the Azerbaijan Premier League, the club terminated the Georgian specialist's contract by mutual consent on August 31.
The Red-Blacks collected just one point from their opening three league matches, recording two defeats and one draw. Gabala also failed to score in any of those games.
Following Tskhadadze's departure, the team's preparations were overseen by the existing coaching staff. Manaf Kalantarli was listed as Gabala's coach in the official match report for their next league game against Imishli, which ended in a 2-1 victory.
