Croatian press: “Mahir’s future in Dinamo is under the question”

Croatian press published an article about Mahir Emreli’s future in Dinamo.

Idman.biz reports that in the article it’s written that they doubt Azerbaijani player’s stay in the team.

Problems in the offensive line were cited as the main reason why the Zagreb club fell behind Hajduk in the championship fight. It was noted that Mahir’s team created 16.4 percent less goal situations and scored 19.1 percent less goals than last season: “It is clear that Dinamo is having difficulties in terms of attack. The team created 16.4 percent fewer goal chances and scored 19.4 percent fewer goals than last season. Due to the injury of Bruno Petkovic, Zagreb had serious problems in the front line. Josip Drmic, who received a high salary, did not live up to expectations. If Mahir Emreli and Sandro Kulenovic showed their potential in some games, they could not become the main scorers. Kulenovic might be useful because of his physical attributes, but Emreli has no chance. “His future in Dinamo is under the question.”

In the 2023/2024 season of the Croatian Championship, Mahir scored 4 times in 12 games for Zagreb club. He completely lost his place in the main team after the change of head coach. Unlike Igor Biscan, Sergey Jakirovic rarely gave chances to the Azerbaijani football player. It is no coincidence that Mahir was on the field for only 12 minutes in the team’s last 7 games.

It should be noted that after 19 rounds, Dinamo is ranked 3rd in the tournament table with 34 points. The team with two games in reserve is separated by 7 points from the leader Hajduk.
