The president of the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation, Mikayil Jabbarov, has congratulated the national team for finishing second in the team rankings at the World Wrestling Championships in Zagreb, Croatia, scoring 89 points in Greco-Roman wrestling.

“Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) showed great determination to win the world champion title for the second time in his career. Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) won silver, while Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) and Murad Ahmadiyev (97 kg) contributed to the team’s total score with bronze medals.
This remarkable achievement once again confirms the strength of Azerbaijan’s wrestling tradition and strengthens our confidence that our athletes will achieve even greater success in future international competitions. We sincerely congratulate our athletes, their coaches, and families on this proud accomplishment,” Jabbarov wrote.
