Aykhan Javadov defeated Egypt’s Ahmed Shaban and Poland’s Gracjan Jedut 9:0, then overcame Turkiye’s Omer Altas 8:3. Javadov will face Georgian Vakhtang Lolua in the semifinals.

Elmin Aliyev beat Ukraine’s Kyrylo Shnyrov 11:4 but lost 0:8 in the round of 16 to Russia’s Michael Skarin, a European and World champion (UWW).
Women’s wrestling
72 kg
Zahra Karimzada lost 0:10 in the round of 16 to China’s Yuqi Liu.
Semifinals will start at 18:00 Baku time, and medal matches will begin at 19:00.
