The U17 World Wrestling Championships continue in Athens, Greece.
On the sixth day of the tournament, matches in the final five weight categories of freestyle wrestling are being held, Idman.biz reports.
Our wrestlers have advanced no further than the 1/8 finals. Their chances of claiming bronze medals now depend on their opponents’ progress.

Sadig Ismayilov lost in the 1/8 final to Russia’s Ibragim Veliullov (UWW) with a score of 4:12.

Ramal Mirhuseynov was defeated by Uzbekistan’s Ulugbek Rashidov in the 1/8 final with a score of 0:11.
60 kg
Hasan Hasanov defeated Uzbekistan’s Fakhriddin Nasriddinov 6:2 but lost in the 1/8 final to Japan’s Rihito Hiura with a score of 0:7.
71 kg
Rashad Veysalov beat Poland’s Ismail Erzanukayev 9:6, but lost in the 1/8 final to the USA’s Jayden James with a score of 2:13.
92 kg
Said Pashayev defeated Algeria’s Abderrahmane Meziti 5:4, but was beaten in the 1/8 final by Russia’s David Cebishov (UWW) with a score of 3:6.
Hakim Taghiyev (110 kg) defeated Armenia’s Laert Movsesyan 13:4 in the repechage round and qualified for the bronze medal match. He will face Bulgaria’s Stefan Stefanov in today’s decisive bout.
Additionally, Huseyn Ismayilov (65 kg) will face Arseni Kikiniou (USA) in the final, while Ravan Hasanzade (48 kg) will wrestle against Islam Rabadanov (Russia).
The medal matches will begin at 19:00 Baku time.
