Six Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestlers have been nominated for the symbolic "Dream Team" ahead of the World Championship, set to take place in Zagreb, Croatia, from September 13 to 21.
In the lead-up to the season’s main tournament, United World Wrestling (UWW) is holding a fan poll on its social media platforms, presenting four candidates per weight class to form the ideal "Dream Team" lineup of classic-style wrestlers, Idman.biz reports.
The Azerbaijani nominees include:
Eldaniz Azizli (55 kg) – 4-time World Champion
Nihat Mammadli (60 kg) – World Champion
Murad Mammadov (63 kg) – European Champion
Hasrat Jafarov (67 kg) – Olympic bronze medalist
Ulvu Ganizade (72 kg) – World Champion
Gurban Gurbanov (82 kg) – European Champion
