Olympic medalist, World and European wrestling champion, Rafig Huseynov, expressed his pride and excitement upon being elected as a member of the National Olympic Committee's Athletes' Commission.
Idman.biz reports that in a social media post, he said: “Today is a special and proud day for me. I have officially been selected as a member of the Athletes' Commission. I will do my best to fulfill this responsible and honorable position. My goal is to represent the voice of athletes, protect their rights, and contribute to creating a healthier sports environment. I am grateful to everyone who trusted me.”
For the 2025–2028 term, the commission will be led by Judo's Rustam Orujov (Chairman), with Farida Azizova (Taekwondo) as Deputy Chairman, alongside members Leyla Aliyeva (Judo), Irada Ashumova (Shooting), Haji Aliyev (Wrestling), Nazim Babayev (Athletics), Rafig Huseynov (Wrestling), Fatima Alkeremova (Swimming), and Rasul Chunayev (Wrestling).
