Turan Dashdamirov (51 kg), a member of the U-17 Greco-Roman wrestling team of Azerbaijan, spoke to Idman.biz.
The gold medalist of the U-17 European Championship held in Serbia commented on his performance. He said that his opponents were not weak at all: "Each of my matches took place under conditions of intense struggle. I am glad to defeat my opponents one by one and reached the finals. Our suffering was not in vain. We worked hard for this championship. In the final, I won against my Armenian opponent with a score of 8:0 and became the champion. This is a proud feeling for me."
The Azerbaijani national team won 9 medals, including 3 gold, 2 silver, and 4 bronze medals at the European Championship. With this, Azerbaijani fighters became the European champion in the team score with 183 points.
