Taleh Mammadov: "We will win at least 2 licenses in Istanbul" - VIDEO

"The Paris-2024 Summer Olympic Games will be very difficult."

This was said by Taleh Mammadov, a Greco-Roman wrestler of the Azerbaijani national team, who was a guest of the Idman Bizde program.

He announced his expectations from the World Olympic Qualifying Tournament, the last license competition for Paris-2024: "I think that at least 2 of our Greco-Roman wrestlers will get a license in Istanbul. This number can be 3. We will do it at 60 and 87 kg. Apart from Islam Abbasov, there is also Rafig Huseynov in 87 kg. It is not yet known who the coaches will give a chance to. This is like that at all weights. I think Sabah Shariati will rely only on 130 kg".

Mammadov also touched upon our chances of winning a medal in Paris-2024: "It will be very difficult. I expect our national wrestling team to win a total of 4-5 medals at the Olympic Games. Maybe I said the number is too many, it might be less."

It should be noted that the World Olympic Qualification Tournament will be held in Istanbul from May 9 to 12.
