Greco-Roman wrestler of the Azerbaijan national team Taleh Mammadov announced the time when he will end his career.
The 34-year-old athlete, who is a guest of Idman Bizda, said that he will finish his activities soon.
According to him, his goal from now on will be to train good wrestlers: "I have always performed in the Olympic weight class. In recent times, I have moved to 63 kg. I was getting old, and an athlete can lose weight 2-3 times a year. But it shows in the performance. I felt that if I dropped my weight to 60 kg, I would be defeated. I did it once, it failed, and I thought that I should not cross the path of young people. In 63 kg, everything was done as I wanted.
He said that, like every athlete, an Olympic medal was his dream: "I have won all the medals. But I was not awarded the Olympic prize. After that, I will try to help the team like the Games. I will end my career after Paris-2024. I will coach and train the students so that they give me an Olympic medal."
It should be noted that Taleh Mammadov is a prize winner of the world and European championships.
