Renowned Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler and four-time world champion Eldaniz Azizli, who announced his retirement in September before deciding to return to elite sport, will begin intensive training from the first days of the new year.
The decorated Azerbaijani wrestler told this to Idman.Biz in an interview.
According to him, the decision to retire after the September World Championships was made in an emotional moment.
"After the World Championships in Zagreb, where I finished third and failed to become a five-time world champion, I decided to leave the sport. It was a very difficult decision for me and was made on emotions. Over time, I realized that I simply cannot live without wrestling. Besides, the goal of becoming a five-time world champion will not leave me alone until I achieve it (laughs). That is why I decided to start intensive training from the very first days of the coming year. Throughout my career, I have always tried to perform at the highest level, and I want to finish it in the same way. I hope I will be able to do that in the new year," Eldaniz Azizli said.
