Getafe president Angel Torres has confirmed that the Spanish club are interested in signing former Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing Spanish newspaper AS, Torres revealed that discussions have already taken place with the player's representatives.
"His brother and agent have spoken to me. Ramos is on our list of potential signings. He could join our team. We have been working on this transfer for some time," Torres said.
However, the Getafe president emphasized that head coach Jose Bordalas is primarily focused on strengthening the team's attacking flanks.
According to Torres, the club already have six experienced central defenders in their squad, meaning that signing another player in that position is not an immediate priority.
Ramos, 40, most recently played for Mexican club Monterrey, which he left in January 2026.
Throughout his illustrious career, the Spanish defender has represented Sevilla, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.
Ramos enjoyed his greatest success at Real Madrid, where he won five La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League trophies. He also played a key role in Spain's triumphs at the 2010 FIFA World Cup and the European Championships in 2008 and 2012.
A potential move to Getafe would mark his return to Spanish football and provide the Madrid-based club with one of the most experienced defenders in the history of the game.
