Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has reacted to his team's dramatic 3-3 draw against Norwegian side Viking in the second round of the UEFA Champions League league phase.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the England international admitted his disappointment with the result, pointing to the red card as the decisive factor behind Bayern's failure to secure all three points.
"Of course, we're disappointed. We didn't start the game well and made far too many mistakes. Viking defended well and waited for their opportunities on the counterattack.
"In the second half, we completely dominated the opposition, found our rhythm and looked confident in front of their goal. But the red card changed everything. We should have won this game with the way we played. Instead, we came away with just one point, and now we have to move on," Kane said.
Bayern found themselves trailing 2-0 before producing an impressive comeback. Kane scored twice, while Luis Diaz added another goal to put the German champions 3-2 ahead.
However, the momentum shifted dramatically in the 74th minute when Michael Olise was sent off, leaving Bayern with ten men.
The Norwegian hosts capitalized on their numerical advantage and scored a dramatic equalizer in the 90th minute, denying the Munich giants what had appeared to be a remarkable comeback victory.
The result means Bayern have dropped points in the Champions League despite Kane's continued impressive goalscoring form.
In the third round of the league phase, Bayern Munich will face Arsenal, while Viking will take on Aston Villa. Both matches are scheduled for October 21.
