Jorge Jesus responds to Cristiano Ronaldo’s statement about Portugal dispute

Portugal head coach Jorge Jesus has reacted to Cristiano Ronaldo’s statement regarding the dispute between the two.

As reported by İdman.Biz, the 41-year-old forward recently revealed details of his disagreement with Jesus, claiming that the coach had broken his word to him on two occasions.

Jesus confirmed that he had read Ronaldo’s comments but chose not to publicly discuss the issue further.

“I read the statement. And now, as I do every day, I’m going to the Federation — to work and think about the team and the Portugal national side. I have nothing more to say,” O Jogo quoted Jesus as saying.

The situation has attracted significant attention ahead of Portugal’s next international matches, with Ronaldo’s comments bringing the relationship between the veteran forward and the national team coach into the spotlight.

Portugal are due to return to action in November, when they conclude their UEFA Nations League group-stage campaign. They will face Denmark on November 14 before taking on Wales on November 17.

Ronaldo, who turned 41 in February, remains one of the most prominent figures in Portuguese football and has continued to represent his country more than two decades after making his senior international debut in 2003.
