Spain and Barcelona forward Lamine Yamal has spoken about his chances of winning the Ballon d'Or after another impressive performance for the national team.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the 19-year-old scored a brace and provided an assist as Spain defeated Croatia 4-1 in the second round of the UEFA Nations League group stage.
After the match, Yamal was asked whether his performance had provided another argument in his favour in the race for the prestigious individual award.
"Another one. In the end, I don't play just for the Ballon d'Or. I play for myself, for the fans, for the national team and to keep winning.
"Did this game bring me closer to the award? I don't know. I don't vote, I don't know who won, I don't know anything at all. We just have to wait and keep playing," Marca quoted Yamal as saying.
Yamal's latest performance once again underlined his importance to Spain, with the Barcelona winger directly involved in three of his team's four goals against Croatia.
