Georgia captain Khvicha Kvaratskhelia has reacted to his team's goalless draw against Ukraine in the second round of the UEFA Nations League.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the Georgian star thanked former head coach Willy Sagnol and spoke about the team's preparations under the new manager.
"First of all, I would like to thank Willy Sagnol. As for the new coach, we had only one training session to prepare for this match. However, I can say that our first half against Ukraine was one of our best performances in recent years," Kvaratskhelia was quoted as saying by Ipress.ge.
The Georgia captain also apologised to the supporters after the team failed to achieve the desired result.
"I apologise to the fans that we were unable to achieve our goal today. But we feel their support at every stage, and we promise that in the remaining matches we will do everything possible to make them happy with victories," he added.
The match ended 0-0, with Georgia and Ukraine sharing the points in the second round of the Nations League.
