Lille midfielder Ethan Mbappe has been suspended for three matches in the league phase of the UEFA Champions League.
As reported by İdman.Biz, citing AP, UEFA imposed the sanction following the 19-year-old's red card in Lille's 3-2 defeat to Real Betis in the opening round of the competition.
Mbappe was shown a straight red card after swinging his arm at Betis defender Natan and catching the Brazilian in the face.
As a result of the suspension, the French midfielder will miss Lille's next three Champions League fixtures against Arsenal, Galatasaray and Bodo/Glimt.
Ethan Mbappe, the younger brother of Real Madrid and France star Kylian Mbappe, joined Lille from Paris Saint-Germain in the summer of 2024. He has since established himself as part of the Ligue 1 club's first-team squad.
