Norway midfielder Martin Odegaard has spoken about his admiration for Portugal forward Cristiano Ronaldo following the two teams' UEFA Nations League encounter.
As reported by İdman.Biz, Norway suffered a 2-1 defeat to Portugal in their latest group-stage match.
"For me, Cristiano remains a role model in every aspect. He was very kind to me and helped me a lot at Real Madrid. I will never forget that.
"Every kid dreams of playing on the same team as him. It was great not only to be around him but also to share the pitch with him," Odegaard was quoted as saying by football insider Fabrizio Romano.
Odegaard joined Real Madrid in 2015 as one of Europe's most highly rated young talents. The Norwegian remained under contract with the Spanish giants until 2021, although he spent several periods on loan and made only 11 appearances for Real Madrid's first team.
He eventually moved to Arsenal, where he went on to become the club's captain.
Odegaard and Ronaldo were teammates at Real Madrid before the Portuguese forward left the Spanish club for Juventus in 2018.
