Following a VAR review, it was determined that the Norwegian striker was not offside in relation to Patrick Dorgu's boot, and the goal was awarded.
However, the referees' body later acknowledged that VAR had failed to properly assess the possible impact of Haaland's position on the episode and should have advised Oliver to review the incident on the pitchside monitor.
Manchester United were contacted and informed that the error had been acknowledged. The incident will now be subject to a review.
