Barcelona defender Eric Garcia has suffered another broken nose during the team's 5-0 La Liga victory over Valencia.
İdman.Biz reports, citing Sport.es, that the incident occurred in the first half during a corner kick. Barcelona midfielder Rodri accidentally struck Garcia in the face with his forehead while turning, with the defender positioned behind his teammate. Garcia began bleeding and was forced to leave the pitch.
Medical examinations have confirmed a nasal fracture. Barcelona's medical staff will now decide whether the defender requires surgery. If an operation is not necessary, Garcia could continue training and playing while wearing a special protective mask.
Garcia previously suffered a similar injury in November 2025 during Barcelona's 3-3 draw with Club Brugge in the Champions League league phase. On that occasion, surgery was not required, and he played in a protective mask for a period of time.
Barcelona's next match is scheduled for September 9 against Feyenoord in the opening round of the Champions League league phase. Garcia's availability will depend on the medical assessment and the treatment plan selected by the club's doctors.
