American businessman and Arsenal owner Stan Kroenke is set to add another major sports franchise to his extensive portfolio.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the 79-year-old billionaire already owns or controls a number of prominent teams across several sports, including Premier League club Arsenal, Arsenal Women of the WSL, NFL franchise Los Angeles Rams, NBA side Denver Nuggets, NHL team Colorado Avalanche, MLS club Colorado Rapids and lacrosse team Colorado Mammoth.
According to media reports, Major League Baseball's Los Angeles Angels are now set to join Kroenke's sports empire.
The deal for a controlling stake in the Angels is expected to be completed before the start of 2027. The transaction reportedly values the franchise at $4 billion.
The Angels have been owned by Arte Moreno since 2003. The club has endured a prolonged period without postseason success and is currently on a run of 11 consecutive seasons without reaching the MLB playoffs.
Kroenke is one of the most influential sports owners in the United States, with his teams competing across football, American football, basketball, ice hockey, soccer and lacrosse.
