Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick has provided an update on Lamine Yamal's condition and said the club must continue to support the young winger as he works his way back to his best form.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the German coach said he was pleased to see the 19-year-old enjoying his football again following a difficult period affected by injury.
"Does Yamal feel happier? Of course, it's always nice to see him smile. I don't smile every day either. Everyone is worried about him, but he played at the World Cup after an injury.
"He is training well. The first match wasn't his best, but I'm happy with what he showed us. Now he has played 90 minutes, and that's good for him. Today's training session was excellent. We have to support him," Flick was quoted as saying by AS.
Yamal remains one of Barcelona's key attacking players despite his young age. The Spain international has established himself as an important figure for both club and country in recent seasons, while Barcelona continue to carefully manage his workload following his injury problems.
Flick's comments suggest the Catalan club are satisfied with the winger's progress and are focused on helping him gradually return to peak condition rather than placing additional pressure on him.
