The draw for the league phase of the 2026/27 UEFA Champions League will take place today, August 27.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the ceremony will begin at 20:00 Baku time, with all 36 participants in Europe's premier club competition now confirmed.
Particular attention in Azerbaijan will be focused on Sabah, who have reached the main stage of the Champions League for the first time in the club's history. The Baku side have been placed in Pot 4.
Under the competition format, each club will play eight matches in the league phase – four at home and four away. Every team will face two opponents from each of the four pots, including two teams from its own pot.
The 36 clubs have been divided into the following pots:
Pot 1: Paris Saint-Germain (France), Bayern Munich (Germany), Real Madrid (Spain), Liverpool (England), Inter (Italy), Manchester City (England), Arsenal (England), Barcelona (Spain), Atletico Madrid (Spain).
Pot 2: Borussia Dortmund (Germany), Roma (Italy), Sporting CP (Portugal), Aston Villa (England), Porto (Portugal), Manchester United (England), Club Brugge (Belgium), Real Betis (Spain), PSV (Netherlands).
Pot 3: Napoli (Italy), Villarreal (Spain), Galatasaray (Türkiye), RB Leipzig (Germany), Feyenoord (Netherlands), Lille (France), Shakhtar Donetsk (Ukraine), Bodo/Glimt (Norway), Fenerbahce (Türkiye).
Pot 4: Stuttgart (Germany), Como (Italy), Lens (France), Slavia Prague (Czechia), LASK (Austria), Sabah (Azerbaijan), AEK Athens (Greece), Viking (Norway), Slovan Bratislava (Slovakia).
The draw will determine all eight opponents for each club, as well as which fixtures will be played at home and away.
