Atletico Madrid supporters expressed their frustration with Argentine forward Julian Alvarez during the team's La Liga second-round match against Villarreal.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the match at the Metropolitano Stadium ended in a 2-2 draw.
Alvarez came off the bench in the 66th minute. Following his introduction, sections of the Atletico support booed the Argentine every time he touched the ball.
Some fans also chanted: "Tell him to leave once and for all."
Alvarez had already been met with whistles from the stands while warming up before the match and again during the half-time interval.
The tension follows the forward's comments during the World Cup, when he publicly expressed his desire to leave Atletico Madrid. He later informed the club's management that he wanted to join Barcelona.
