Celtic head coach Martin O'Neill has spoken about the role of former Qarabag striker Camilo Durán in the team.
As reported by İdman.Biz, the experienced manager noted that the Colombian is currently playing in a position that may not suit him best.
According to O'Neill, Durán could be more effective as a central striker or in a role behind the main forward.
"In terms of his quality, Camilo is probably playing out of position at the moment. I see him as a central striker or someone who can play behind the central striker. So our team needs to be more tactically flexible," the head coach said.
O'Neill stressed that when a team has players with strong goalscoring abilities, it must be able to use different tactical systems:
"We need to be able to play in several different systems without any problems. If you have players who are capable of scoring goals, you need to find different ways to use their abilities."
Camilo Durán has scored three goals in three of Celtic's pre-season matches.
It should be noted that in the 2025/26 season, Durán made 45 appearances for Qarabag in all competitions and scored 15 goals. Five of those goals came in the UEFA Champions League. In summer 2026, he joined Celtic from the Agdam club.
