On 11 August, streaming service Netflix released a three-part documentary series about Real Madrid head coach José Mourinho, as reported by İdman.Biz.
Pep Guardiola, who has managed Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City, was willing to take part in the filming but ultimately did not appear in the project.
Director Joe Pearlman said the filmmakers approached the Spanish coach and invited him to give an interview. Guardiola agreed, but set one condition.
“Yes, we did reach out to Pep. He agreed to give an interview, but on the condition that José personally contacted him. You can imagine how that ended,” Pearlman said, as quoted by The Sun.
Mourinho and Guardiola were fierce rivals for many years during their spells in La Liga and the Premier League.
