One-minute water breaks will be introduced during Azerbaijan Premier League matches to allow players to take on fluids.
As reported by İdman.Biz, AFFA Refereeing Committee chairman Rahim Hasanov announced the measure during a meeting with media representatives.
According to Hasanov, the rules provide for a water break when the air temperature reaches 32°C. However, given the high humidity in Baku in August, the break may also be granted at a lower temperature.
“You know that Baku has high humidity in August. Therefore, if AFFA representatives consider it necessary, taking the players’ health into account, a water break may be provided even at 30 degrees,” he said.
Hasanov noted that the break will last one minute and both teams will be informed before the start of the match if it is to be used.
It should be noted that today, AFFA’s Refereeing Department and Refereeing Committee held an information meeting for media representatives at the AFFA administrative building, focusing on the latest changes to the Laws of the Game and the VAR protocol.
