Police have carried out raids at the offices of the Korea Football Association (KFA) as part of an ongoing investigation into a governance scandal in South Korean football.
As reported by İdman.Biz, law enforcement officers searched the federation's offices in Seoul and Cheonan, seizing documents and digital records.
The investigation focuses on the appointment of Hong Myung-bo as head coach of the South Korea national team in 2024. Police are examining whether senior KFA officials interfered with the federation's established selection process.
Hong's appointment sparked widespread criticism in South Korea. Following its own review, the country's Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism concluded that internal procedures had been violated during the hiring process.
Despite the findings, the KFA announced that Hong's contract would remain in effect.
