Former Real Madrid midfielder Guti has shared his thoughts on the appointment of Alvaro Arbeloa as head coach of the team following the departure of Xabi Alonso.
According to İdman.Biz, citing Spanish media, Guti noted that a similar situation had already occurred in the club’s history, when Zinedine Zidane was promoted from Castilla to the first team, and that process was also not without difficulties.
“There is a certain mystery here, but when Zinedine Zidane moved from Castilla to the first team, the situation was similar, and things were not easy back then either. The club knows what Arbeloa is capable of, because he has worked with the youth teams for a long time. If he has been entrusted with such a responsible position, it means they believe in him. Now we will see how things work out for him,” Guti said.
It should be noted that the 42-year-old specialist previously worked with Real Madrid’s youth teams and was appointed head coach of Castilla in May.
