Lazio left-back Nuno Tavares may leave the club during the winter transfer window.
According to İdman.Biz, citing Turkish media, the most serious offer for the Portuguese defender has come from Besiktas. Tavares is not part of head coach Maurizio Sarri’s plans and is currently looking for a new club. The Istanbul side is close to reaching an agreement with Lazio, but the two clubs have yet to find a compromise over the mandatory purchase option, which is set at 10 million euros (20 million manats).
Earlier reports suggested that Tavares had reached an agreement with Al-Ittihad, coached by Sergio Conceicao, but that option has now moved to the background.
If the Portuguese defender leaves, Lazio plan to strengthen the left side of their defense by signing Villarreal full-back Alfonso Pedraza.
