Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has shared his assessment of Liverpool’s performance in the English Premier League this season.
According to Idman.Biz, Keane’s comments were published by the Daily Mail. After 21 matches under the guidance of Arne Slot, Liverpool sit fourth in the league table with 35 points, trailing leaders Arsenal by 14 points.
Keane noted that for big clubs, the key benchmark after winning a league title is the work done in the following season. He recalled that Liverpool also suffered a noticeable downturn after their previous title-winning campaign, a decline influenced by injuries and changes within the squad.
The former Ireland international described the current points gap as a serious setback, stressing that Liverpool have not shown enough effort to match the standards expected of reigning champions.
