Argentine winger Alejandro Garnacho publicly and with irony reacted to the dismissal of Ruben Amorim from the position of head coach of Manchester United. The Portuguese specialist was relieved of his duties at Old Trafford after an unsuccessful 14-month spell in charge, Idman.Biz reports.
Garnacho was among the players whom Amorim effectively sidelined from the main squad. This ultimately led to his transfer to Chelsea, and judging by his reaction on social media, the Argentine did not hide his satisfaction following his former coach’s departure. Fans noticed that Garnacho liked an Instagram post by transfer insider Fabrizio Romano confirming Amorim’s exit from Manchester United.
Amorim took charge of the Manchester club in November 2024 and immediately implemented a 3-4-3 system that had previously brought him success at Sporting. However, the approach did not suit several of the team’s wingers. Gradually, Antony, Marcus Rashford, and Jadon Sancho were frozen out of the squad, followed by Garnacho himself, who struggled to earn the trust of the coaching staff.
By the end of the 2024/25 season, it became clear that the 21-year-old academy graduate had no future at the club under Amorim. After the Europa League final, in which Manchester United lost 0-1 to Tottenham, Garnacho openly hinted that he was considering a move away.
The Argentine later joined Chelsea for £40 million, beginning a new chapter in his career under Enzo Maresca. Despite the transfer, Garnacho continues to closely follow developments at his former club and, judging by his reaction, is not ready to simply forget his time working under Ruben Amorim.
