Football club Manchester United has officially parted ways with head coach Ruben Amorim. The Portuguese specialist has been dismissed from his position following a series of internal discussions within the club’s management, Idman.Biz reports citing insider Fabrizio Romano.
Earlier, Manchester United had been preparing contingency plans for a possible managerial change despite publicly backing Amorim. Behind the scenes, consultations were already taking place regarding potential candidates to take over the head coach role in case the situation developed negatively.
At the time of Amorim’s dismissal, Manchester United sat sixth in the Premier League table. After 20 rounds, the team collected 31 points under his leadership, a total considered insufficient to meet the club’s objectives.
It should be recalled that on the eve of the decision, the Red Devils played out a draw at home against Leeds.
According to reports, Manchester United’s next head coach will be Darren Fletcher, who is currently in charge of the club’s U-18 team.
