Former Netherlands international Jordi Cruyff will be appointed as technical director of Ajax, İdman.Biz reports, citing the official website of the Amsterdam club.
The 51-year-old specialist is expected to begin his duties in February 2026. Cruyff’s contract will run until June 30, 2028.
Jordi Cruyff is the son of legendary Johan Cruyff. Since February 2025, he has served as a strategic advisor to the Indonesian national team. Previously, Cruyff worked with Chinese clubs Shenzhen and Chongqing Lifan, coached the Ecuador national team, and held positions at Maccabi Tel Aviv and Barcelona.
It should be recalled that Ajax were opponents of Agdam-based Qarabag in the main stage of the Champions League. In the sixth round, Gurban Gurbanov’s team lost at home to the Amsterdam club by a score of 2:4.
