The men’s volleyball team of “Murov Az Terminal” will compete for the championship in the new season of the Azerbaijan league.
According to Idman.biz, the club’s general manager, Shiraslan Karimov, provided the information to Report news agency.
The club official stated that they have formed a stronger team: “For the past two years, we have won silver medals in the national championship. Although we performed consistently during the tournament, something was missing in the finals. Compared to previous seasons, we have now assembled a much stronger team. We have invited a new head coach and signed a one-year contract. In the new season, we will fight for the championship. I hope we achieve our goal.”
He also noted that the team’s new captain has been determined: “We have made changes to the roster. We have very good foreign players. We have signed five international volleyball players. Aleksey Samoylenko, who was chosen as last season’s best player, will remain in the team and serve as captain.”
Karimov added that the club has invited homegrown players to the main roster: “We have also invited volleyball players who came through the ranks of ‘Murov Az Terminal.’ Our main goal is to develop local players. We have decided not to include older players in the team. Our new players are 17–18 years old. Playing alongside foreign players will be a great opportunity for their development.”
