The experienced player first commented on their away match against Belgium in the European Championship qualifiers: “In the away match against Belgium, we tried our best. Belgium, being one of Europe’s leading volleyball teams, was superior to us in terms of game level. Our team has many new players, almost 70% of the squad has been renewed. As experienced players, we try to support them.”
Regarding the home game against Austria in Baku, he said: “We wanted to succeed in the match against Austria. Unfortunately, we could not play the game we hoped for. Our players’ lack of experience did not allow us to achieve the desired result. I am sure that each of these matches is a great experience for our team. In the near future, we will make the Azerbaijani people happy with our victories.”
Azerbaijan lost their last two matches against Belgium and Austria with a score of 0:3.
