Volleyball World Championship in Thailand faces uncertainty amid Cambodia conflict

The volleyball world championship, scheduled to start in Thailand in August, is under threat, the war with Cambodia may disrupt the tournament.

Due to military clashes at the Thailand-Cambodia border, women’s national teams have begun reconsidering their participation in the world championship, Idman.biz reports.

This was reported by "Sport Interia."

Poland has already expressed its position on the matter: "We are waiting for information from the FIVB (International Volleyball Federation). We want to know what their plans are. Will they take any measures regarding this situation? Recently, we were involved in the process of relocating a world championship. We will definitely hold talks with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, as well as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. We will wait for their instructions. We need some time to gather more information."

FIVB had previously stated that the tournament would take place as originally planned. However, following this announcement, the situation at the Cambodia-Thailand border has intensified. Therefore, many teams are awaiting a new decision from the FIVB.
