“What a wonderful season! I still can’t believe it’s over.”
Azerbaijani volleyball player Polina Rahimova reflected on the past season in Brazil, where she won the national championship, the national cup, and the Paulista championship with Osasco, Idman.biz reports.
On her social media page, Rahimova emphasized that they had an incredible, beautiful, and unforgettable season: “The season was full of emotions, positivity, and for me, an unexpected ending. I’m over the moon because my dream has come true. We did it — all three trophies are ours! I’m very grateful to everyone who was by my side, supported me, and believed in me. Now it’s time to turn the page and move on to the next chapter of this adventure. Onward!”
Rahimova will play the next season with Panionios. Notably, the Greek club currently has four other foreign players, including Elisa Vasileva-Atanasevic, who previously played for Fenerbahce and stands out among the roster.
Also on the Panionios team are Serbian outside hitter Bianka Buša, Ukrainian opposite Viktoriia Lokhmanchuk, and Cypriot middle blocker Katerina Zakchaiou. The team’s head coach is Serbian Dragan Nešić.
