The new season of the Azerbaijan Women's Volleyball Super League gets underway today, November 6, with two matches scheduled for the opening round.
As reported by İdman.Biz, both encounters will begin at 16:00 Baku time.
The National Aviation Academy team will host Ganja, who finished third in last season's championship. The two sides previously faced each other in the battle for the bronze medals, adding extra intrigue to their opening-round meeting.
In the day's other fixture, league newcomers Azermash Absheron and Nakhchivan will make their Super League debuts against each other. The match will take place at the Volleyball Center of Azerbaijan's Ministry of Youth and Sports.
The start of the women's championship comes exactly two weeks after the men's Super League began its new season on October 23.
The opening fixtures will mark the beginning of another campaign in Azerbaijan's top women's volleyball competition, with established teams and newcomers competing for positions in the league standings.
